Happy Halloween!
There are so many good metal bands to feature on Halloween, but The Black Dahlia Murder wins today because I don’t think I’ve ever written about them before.
The band is from Michigan and will play the first night of Sonic Temple.
The Black Dahlia Murder formed in 2001 and most recently put out Servitude in 2024 via Metal Blade. Their album release pattern seems to be about every three years or so, meaning we are probably due for new music soonish. Also, the band is just funny. They don’t take themselves too seriously - their videos and social content make me chuckle.
The band takes its name from the unsolved murder case of Elizabeth Short. Journalists referred to her as the“Black Dahlia.”
