Van Halen Celebrate ‘Balance’ 30th Anniversary With New Package

I’ll admit I didn’t see this one coming: Van Halen will release a special 30th anniversary package of the Balance album via Rhino.

Balance (Expanded Edition) will come out August 15.

The special package will feature an expanded edition of the album, available as 2LP/2CD/Blu-ray deluxe set, plus the original recording remastered. Also included are previously unreleased live recorded from the Balance tour - one of those tracks is “The Seventh Seal” and you can hear it here:

I love the Balance album and the tour was so freaking good. I remember so much about that summer Cincinnati show from my pre-driving days. It was just such a fun night seeing a favorite “big band.”

Balance was the final studio album featuring Sammy Hagar, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony and definitely marked the end of the era.
