It's Been 20 Years...

I cannot believe Bon Jovi's New Jersey was released 20 years ago. On this date 20 years ago, the album was number one on the American charts. New Jersey features some of Bon Jovi's biggest hits - and my favorite - "Bad Medicine." I played that 45 over and over again when I was kid. That's what happens when you don't have a lot of records: the ones you do have you tend to spin quite a lot.

Some great Bon Jovi live moments:

"Bad Medicine" back in 1989

"Lay Your Hands on Me" from 1993

"I'll Be There for You" from 1996

Ah, how I long for the days of classic Bon Jovi.

I was never really a fan of Bon Jovi but i did go to see this tour - they played in Scotland supported by Lita Ford and to be honest i thought the best part of the night was when Richie Sambora sang a couple of songs.

This album was crap, althogh it had a couple of good songs.

I agree with your last comment, I think the main reason no new albums become classics to me like the old ones, is that I buy too many and none get played enough to really become part of me like Master of Puppets or Slippery when wet did.

I can't beileve what Christian said New Jersey is AMAZING!

Contains Bon Jovi's Greatest Song
That song is just amazing and so are all the others like Born To Be My Baby (When i saw Bon Jovi live this year that was their best song with Raise Your Hands!) and Blood on Blood!

No wonder I heard Bon Jovi on the radio this morning! :) I freaking LOVE New Jersey and think it's one of their best albums. Like Allyson, I played my record non-stop. I too long for the days of classic Bon Jovi...sigh.

New Jersey is a great album, love it.
But Slippery When Wet is my favorite.

I guess tis just proves that different albums mean different things to different people. I *love* Bad Medicine and Lay your hands on me. Born to be my baby is OK. Living in sin and blood on blood are two of the worst songs Bon Jovi ever recorded, in my opinion, and the rest of the CD is pure filler.

What is amazing to me is how much better they got with Keep the faith, their best album IMO.

I'm not saying you're all wrong, if you love it, good for you :-)

Hey Christian, I respect your opinion...
But I just love the songs, "Living In Sin", and "Blood On Blood" just makes you feel good. It's good time rock n' roll....
