Rocklahoma Announcement - Today!

rocklahomalogo.jpgIt's finally time to learn just who will be playing Rocklahoma 2008. The announcement is set for 1 p.m. (Pacific) at the Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles - right on the Sunset Strip. Jetboy, Bret Michaels, Jani Lane and the rest of Warrant will be on hand for the announcement. DJ Eddie Trunk will host the conference and it will stream live on XM satellite radio channel 41 The Boneyard.

There isn't much point in me writing anything else. I'll be back right after the announcement with the list of performers and my thoughts on the selection.

Ok, I will say this: It's just after midnight. I still don't think Motley Crue is playing Rocklahoma. Perhaps I'll get a nice surprise come this afternoon?!?

While we wait, watch this video: Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil '97." More proof that it's always a bad idea to mess with an original.

I *like* the updated Shout at the Devil, the riff is a lot tougher, and it just sounds heavier. When I play this song, this is the version I play.

Personally, I agree with Mr. Graus.

Whoever ends up on the Rocklahoma lineup, I'm going to be excited anyway. :)

Yeah, me too. I am sure I'm going to get to see a number of bands I like. I am more concerned about the non hardcare glam fans, will there be anything for people who just remember Twisted Sister, Poison and Motley Crue ?|

I don't dig this version. Too dancy. It completly lost the dark, angry, mood of the original. Lost the heaviness too. It's too upbeat. This was just filler that took up the space where another new song could have been. This and "Brandon" should not have been released. I think they were both done to appease Tommy.
The original was the first song I ever heard by the Crue. it's what started my addiction (obsession).
There is no better album opening than the intro of "In The Beginning," and "Shout At The Devil." It set the tone for a whole generation.
