I love the line-up, awesome bands! And I don't care at all what Rolling Stones does. If I want to see the mainstream bands their readers know, I can go to plenty of other festivals.

Krokus was supposed to play on Friday, but not as headliner. Just a couple of days ago they announced that they would take an 'artistic break' and canceled all their shows, not just Rocklahoma.

While I am happy with a number of bands announced yesterday...Kix, Telsa, Cinderella, Warrant w/Jani, Extreme, Night Ranger, Lynch Mob, Triumph, Tora Tora and Trixter, the REALLY need to add two headliners and a couple more second tier bands to make this lineup as good as last year. I have faith that Motley will be one and hopefully someone like the Scorpions will be the other. I would also like to see Danger Danger and Tyketto added. If that happens this lineup is very good!

Yeah i hope motley is there. that would be the best. although i wish it was the Phil Lewis LA Guns. not the tracii guns.
March 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterChey
it would also be awsome if Vains of Jenna showed up

I don't care about Rolling Stone either, that's not the point. The point is, last year they had a festival with mainstream appeal, this year they do not. And, they still need to sell 30,000 tickets.

Wow, Tesla?

That surprises me a bit.

christian, you were dead on and i am eating crow for defending the jackholes at rocklahoma. it could still be salvaged by some HUGE tba's but at this point i may not go.

by the way, for the other poster, krokus was never a headliner and indeed tehy have backed out.

Yeah, Don, we'll see what happens. Like I said, the sign for me was always the way the date kept moving. It's clear now that they had nothing. The big fear is, the big bands are all booked elsewhere now, perhaps except Motley. But, even with a killer headliner, the mix is just a step down from last year. For me, I am stoked about Extreme and Kix. But, I worry with the mix so poor this year, if they will sell any more tickets, or if the people threatening to sell, will start flooding ebay. If they lose money, they could cancel the whole deal, or at least, they could decide not to do it again.

I always thought Rocklahoma had a limited lifespan. I always expected them to lose more people than they gain, each year, as some were happy to relive their youth the once, and only the hardcore fans would remain. I didn't expect them to screw it up themselves tho.

Can't wait to watch COCKPIT! Those girls rock!

Paul Shortino sung on QR for one album that everyone hated. He was in Rough Cutt, and they were a great band. I'll be there to check him out, but I hope he doesn't do any QR, because no-one even knows the songs on the album he played and I don't want to hear him sing 'metal health'

Typos? Not really considering most of the bands were not even included on the "official" press release. Check the Tulsa World for typos.

Just search "Rocklahoma" on their website.

Those set tims cannot be right since KIX has posted on their myspace page they are going on at 7pm on Saturday. That would conflict with what the guy from retrospect records just posted,

A friend of mine and I wrote a post evaluating the bands on the bill over at my site today.

Metal Mark - Your friends are douche bags who basically rag on every band in the lineup. OK i get it they don't like 80's rock...No need to post that crap on here! TAKE IT ELSEWHERE.
March 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterKixRules
Oh Metal Mike you were one of the people who worte this write up??? So I guess I called you a douche bag. Sorry about that but your review pissed me off and it's eveident you don't like glam/hard rock from the 80's so no need to post this here. This site is "Bring Back Glam". And it's not just your posts about how bad KIX is that pissed me off.
