The 'Rock of Ages' Trailer Is Here!

Finally, we have the official trailer for Rock of Ages starring Tom Cruise and a boatload of other famous folks. I gotta admit, I don't like musicals. I get why Rock of Ages has been successful. I mean, it's based on the 80s and Glam! Still... it's all a little too cheesy for me. The trailer is also a little cringe-worthy. But what can I say? I'm sure I'll end up seeing this movie. Will you?

Oh and props to Perez Hilton for creating a trailer that can actually be shared!

CRINGE WORTHY is absolutely correct. I shuddered seeing such a bastardized version of a scene & time that I grew up in.

I am REALLY surprised that Dee Snider would let his song about NOT conforming & rebellion be sanitized & even worse, melded with that chunk of schlock, "We Built This City". Even Grace Slick from Starship is embarrassed by that song. As she should be!

Sorry, this is as embarrassing as Gene Simmons latest marketing disaster, melding KISS & Hello Kitty!

IS NOTHING SACRED???

Well..I think its going to be a cool and fun movie. I saw the show up in NY city and I was blown away. It was really well done, sexual, and the music was off the hook.
The movie will be silly, but it will be flattering. Our decade must have left a huge impact on people, if they are making a movie about it. I think it's cool as hell.

Hey it's Hollywood and it is/was a huge musical hit on Broadway. I think it’s cool and will definitely go see it.

I saw the musical last year and wasn't a big fan. There were some fun moments for sure, and the music was good, but too cheesy & Broadway for my tastes.

WTF! Tom Cruise alone is the reason NOT to see this movie. He is anything but glam/matal! I cannot believe Dee Snider signed off on this.

EEWW!!!
I have a friend that has seen this several times because she is a fan of that guy from A.I., Constant Marketplace or whatever.
I was turned off to this when they toured here in Houston, the ad listed all the songs featured, They had Whitesnake as two words. For some reason that pissed me off more than anything.
It reminds me of Rock Star where someone that wasn't around and did not like the scene is going to take the only things they know and make that the basis.

Yeah, you get the feeling this "juggernot" (sic) was started and now, hopefully, ended by people who have no REAL regard for the music, let alone, any real knowledge about it. From the creators to the producers right down to the performers, both on Broadway and in Hollywoodland, it's just one great big disingenuous cash grab!

Still, I'll go see it. Side benefit -- even if they are consciously making a mockery of our beloved genre, it duz wonders to Bring Back Glam!, as people will buy and, thus support our cause!

I'm pretty sure they changed the plot on top of everything. Wasn't there supposed to be Germans buying the place??

I'll see it if I can download it or get it from Netflix. It's a musical; I expect some degree of cheesiness. Looks like it could be silly and fun. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan but he for those thinking he doesn't have the right look for an aging rockstar remember how many fans back in the day complained that Cruise shouldn't have been cast as the vampire Lestat as he didn't resemble Anne Rice's description of him and yet he did a fabulous job in "Interview With the Vampire". So much so that when I watched Stuart Townsend in "Queen of the Damned", who was a better physical match, I missed Cruise's Lestat. And, Cruise was downright hilarious as Les Grossman in "Tropic Thunder". He'll be fine as an aging rock star.. :) If this silly movie inspires one kid to check out the real bands who provided the music and one more to actually pick up a real instrument I'm fine with it.

ACE STEELE-Wait. What? HK and KISS? For realz? I'm not sure if that's the worst idea I've ever heard of that's marketing genius! But..I probably shouldn't be surprised.

Hahaha!!! I know this chick who just got a Darth Vader Hello Kitty tattoo! Personally, I'm not into tattoo's -- well, not on me, at any rate, hahaha!,, they look cool on other people, tho! Hey, man, it's High Art, particularly now, considering how expensive it is!

p.s. Yes! Les Grossman! Hey, IMTHEONE, I'm no Cruise fan either, especially his whole Scientology trip, but I gotta say, the dude can act!
