James Durbin Rocks Judas Priest on 'American Idol'

Holy Glam! James Durbin, a contestant on the current season of American Idol, threw down the gauntlet and rocked Judas Priest. Durbin sang "You've Got Another Thing Comin." His performance marked the first time a Judas Priest song has ever been performed on the show. Awesome.

WOW!!! That was nice! stage presence and vocals are great! Loved the whole sign with Tyler too!

Seriously though someone tell J Lo to stop acting like an idiot she just looks stupid flashing the horns. They got rid of Paula for a reason.

I would love to hear what he could do with the song if he had more than a week of prep. It was good, but I think it could have been great given more time.

I can't lie. I was impressed. He's no Rob Halford (who is?), but he did a great job!

Fantastic!

A hair sanitized but overall, pro all the way.

And Priest on Idol?

This signifies our cause celebre to Bring Back Glam! being pushed even further!

p.s. And furthered even more by Crue and Poison bringin' along their inspiritors, The New York Dolls, along for the ride on The Glam-A-Geddon Tour!

Are you people high?? That sucked so bad it should be cleaning the cat hair out of my carpet. That was the equivalent of Pat Boone doing Little Richard songs in the 50's. He may as well had a shirt that said "Look at how edgy I am".
Sad beyond belief.

Hahaha!!!

Harsh, Scott!

We're just so starved for old school Glam Metal we'll take anything we can get.

Oh scott nice of you to bring the "are you guys high?" thing, now you might as well have a shirt, saying "I'm different from the rest the usual sheep, that sucked." Now see I can be extra with my opinion as well. It wasn't that bad at all and we all know it.

Hey I can tell who the true music lovers are. And I think it's quite rude of you to make fun of him for having a disease that he can't help, Scott. I would like to see him sing a song by Tool or Metallica. He is my favorite of all of them and I tune in each week just to watch him. I think he rocks!

Yes, James Durbin bringing Metal to prime-time audiences on American Idol was a GREAT thing! He's got a great voice and stage presence that I hope inspires another generation to take notice of the extremely talented newcomers to Hard Rock / Heavy Metal that are out there just waiting to be discovered. James Durbin proved by finishing 4th (out-lasting the others from the top 10) that Metal still has a huge following! Placing that well with songs from the Hard Rock genre on American Idol just proves that there are a lot more Hard Rock fans out there than the record companies realize, and I predict the big name labels WILL take notice and start devoting more resources to scouting / signing / producing / promoting Hard Rock since James Durbin came along than we have seen in about 20 years!
