The Rods Featuring Ronnie James Dio, 'The Code'

Who here has the new Rods album featuring Ronnie James Dio? The Rods have a longstanding Dio connection, going all the way back to the Elf days. The Rods began releasing albums in the early 1980s and eventually broke-up. Well, a couple years back they reunited and guess what? Ronnie James Dio recorded with them!

"The Code" is apparently the last song recorded by the great Dio. It is featured on the Rods album Vengeance and was released by Niji records... a label owned by Ronnie James Dio's wife, Wendy.

I like "The Code" a lot - it is heavy and that is a good thing.

Great Song!!! I love the Rods. They are the true American 3 piece hard rock band. They are from the Central NY area near where I live. Seen them many times over the decades. I played 3 songs last November at Metal Cuse' - The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Foudation and this past May I played 6 songs to honor the 1 year anniversary of his death. 'Rock' Feinstein is one of my favorite guitar players, along the likes of Randy Rhoads, Pat Travers, and other 70's guitar players.
Dio has a street named after him also...

Check out the Elf material.. The early blues/honky tonk boogie with Dio's voice is amazing... The guy had one of those voices that can sing anything..
'Metal Will Never Die'!!!!

The man kicked major ass right up to the very end,and this song is the proof. RIP Ronnie, you are sorely missed.

David "Rock" Feinstein is Dio's cousin. He also did an awesome solo album a few years ago, and one recently, the recent one also has Dio singing, on an old Elf tune, I believe. He was also in Elf, so I guess we have Ritchie Blackmore to thank for the Rods existing.

I forgot to post this..
To celebrate Ronnie's birthday, Sunday, July 10th, 2011, a Committee has been put together, to over see proceeds to benefit the "Stand Up And Shout Cancer Foundation" and the "Ronnie James Dio Music Scholarship at CHS" with live music including The Rods..
