The Big M3 Announcement Is Monday

You read the headline correctly: the big M3 lineup announcement is Monday, Jan. 30. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb 3rd. That's all I know at this point - the press alert I received didn't mention anything about the time of the announcement or if it would be on the radio or just an online blast. I guess we'll see soon enough.

M3 2012 is set for May 11 and 12 in Columbia, Md.

So far, we know that Queensryche, Warrant and Quiet Riot will be at the fest. In some cases, the bands confirmed their own appearance and in other instances, the appearances were leaked by Pollstar. So, if you've got any last minute lineup guesses, now is the time to make your declaration.

When the lineup is officially released Monday, I will post it here.

Actually I believe only about 4 or 5 new bands will be announced on Monday. Steel Panther should be one of the bands announced.

I heard Stryper and Jackyl would be there, but I'm not saying I know that for sure.

If a rumor mentioned by Allyson in her previous post about Phil Collen that Poison and Def Leppard may be touring together this Summer, wouldn't it be great if those two band's were announced as the headliners of M3 2012? Now THAT would be the M3 of M3s, putting the battered festival back on th map in chrome lettering!

p.s. Of course, Steel Panther and Stryper would be welcome additions to the line-up along with the questionable Jackyl in the side show, if what Christian sex is true.

Hahaha!!! I meant "... what Christian 'SEZ' is true!" that has to be the funniest Auto-Correct Fail I've seen yet! Sorry, Christian!

Please do not have Queensryche as the headliner M3!!!! If you want attendance to keep up you have to get Leppard and or Poison as the headliner. Can't imaging they would think attendance would stay high with Queensryche as the headliner??? Here are some of my guesses/wishes:

Poison or Lep headlining
Queensryche
Cinderella
Kix
Jackyl
Steelheart
Trixter
Quiet Riot
Warrant
Babylon AD
Baton Rouge
White Lion
XYZ
Danger Danger
LA Guns - Phil
Michael Monroe
Child's Play

I wish somehow Damn Yankees would reunite because they could headline this festival

I can't wait to go again this year! Queensryche can handle headlining if the bill is strong enough, but I would love to see them as direct support to a bigger band. Whitesnake headlined last year and if you take a look they play the same sized venues as WS.

I'm hoping to see some smaller bands come back for that 2nd stage as well.... like Vain, Bulletboys, Keel, Dangerous Toys, etc.

Great call with Child's Play. I believe they are from that area.

No disrespect to Queensryche as a band, but are just not festival headling material. I think they have more of a niche audience and don't really have much crossover appeal.

I did hear that Trixter was a very good possibility. Also heard a slight possibility for Famme Fatale, Bang Tango, and Enuff Z'Nuff.

People on the M3 Facebook page are saying Lynch Mob ate confirmed. Love to see Saigon Kick, Krokus,LA Guns etc.

Doubt that QR will be there now that Huff is out.
January 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJeff
....and there is no mention on QR's website about the show anymore.

I'd like to have Baton Rouge, Lillian Axe, Lynch Mob, Chicken Foot, and Lord Tracy.

Yeah, I heard Child's Play is back out playin' and mentioned what a natch they would be for this festival in Comments on one of Al's last posts regarding M3 as they are, indeed, from the area, Baltimore, specifically, to confirm your speculation, Sparky.

I saw 'em 'bout 20 times back in the day and own their first to albums and man, do they ROCK! I always found Brian Jacks, the guy who replaced their first singer, kind of annoying but now when I listen to him again, his voice really does k*ck ass and always did. Who cares if he still thinks he's Mr. Hotsh*t. They would be awesome on the bill, no doubt. "Rat Race"!!!

Okay, lookin' at everybody's list for he ultimate line-up, how's this?...

PROPOSED M3 2012 LINE-UP

Poison and Def will make A LOT more money touring on their own than by doing this festival.
They need to get new bands like Bad City and Black Rain involved so it doesn't have such a nostalgic feel to it. What about Sebastian Bach w/Steve Stevens headlining?
January 27, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterscott whitt
I think the M3 formula is great the way it is. Newer bands....? Keep the vibe.
January 27, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterbrian L
Scott! You just expressed the desire for M3 to have a less nostalgic feel, yet you want Bach and Stevens to headline. What do you call them?

Plus as much as I love 'em, they do not a headliner make! As far as Bad City and Black Rain go, bring them and. Host of other cool new band's on like Reckless Love for one. This crowd would love 'em because they have a nostalgic feel AND they're new!

I would be all over that lineup metalboy. But I think Kix will headline Friday no matter what. Question on Lynch Mob....is Oni still out?? They are on the MOR cruise too, and was really looking forward to seeing them. But I think I heard a couple of months ago that they now have a new lead singer.

Regarding your proposed Friday night lineup
Friday, May 12th

Queensryche
Warrant
Trixter
Jackyl
Bang Tango

NEWSFLASH.....JACKYL WILL NEVER EVER EVER play that early, and no way b/f Trixter!! I hink it's safe to say that they would smoke Warrant and Ryche off the stage....They are very high energy band and Warrant and Ryche are DEFINATELY NOT!

Just my .02

Haven't read the rest of your lineup yet....
January 27, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterkari
Bring on CHILD'S PLAY, STEELHEART, BATON ROUGE & BABYLON AD!!!
