Iced Earth Ready New Album, Tour

Something a little different today Glam fans. As you know, I write about all types of Metal. I know a few of you are Iced Earth fans. The band is readying a new album. If you like straight ahead metal, check them out. Here's some information.

With the release of new studio album 'PLAGUES OF BABYLON' approaching, metal titans ICED EARTH have launched a video teaser to preview the album and their upcoming WORLDWIDE PLAGUES headlining tour.

'PLAGUES OF BABYLON' is set for a January 21, 2014 release in North America (January 6 worldwide) on Century Media Records. The band will bring the new album to their North America homeland when their headlining WORLDWIDE PLAGUES TOUR hits our shores April 4 for a six-week run with SABATON and REVAMP in support.

"This is a seriously heavy album with a seriously brutal album cover," says Jon Schaffer of 'PLAGUES OF BABYLON'. "I'm sure it will go down as a classic in the epic ICED EARTH catalog. We feel that the package with SABATON and REVAMP is very strong and we are very excited to tour the U.S. and Canada again and kick some major ass!"

Exclusive VIP packages for the entire ICED EARTH North American tour are available now at www.enterthevault.com. VIP packages will remain onsale while supplies last.

Beginning with their groundbreaking self-titled debut album, ICED EARTH has remained steadfastly committed to championing heavy metal and continues to be one of America's greatest classic metal bands. 'PLAGUES OF BABYLON' is no exception. From the sheer power of the title track and neck-breaking thrashers like "Among The Living Dead," to the haunting "Cthulhu" and the colossal "If I Could See You" and "Spirit Of The Times," 'PLAGUES OF BABYLON' takes fans on the thundering power trip that has become ICED EARTH's trademark.

They're an okay band, not my favorite. I can listen to them, but I wont go out of my way. If you like straight ahead metal like me i'd say to check out some old school overkill, or newer stuff like 4arm or HeXeN.

great band, and the newest singer is amazing. I saw them on the last tour and that guy can sing his ass off (seen him w/ his last band a couple times too, so not totally surprising, but if you don't know about him, and love some screaming (not Screamo) vox, check him out). I've also seen IE w/ Barlow and Ripper, and I think Stu might have impressed me more than either.

and yeah Dj, everyone into the heavier side of metal should be an Overkill fan (I thought that was a given?)!!

Even I like Overkill! Their cover of the Dead Boys' "Sonic Reducer", along with ALL their stuff, is phenomenal!

One of THE few bands from the so called "Heavier Side" that's actually good. As opposed to most of the sh*te Christian likes, hahaha!!! Just had to keep it goin' just a little bit longer, hahaha!!!

Overkill is one of those bands that is very underrated. Only diehards like them. I find it kind of hilarious that Overkill is being mentioned on a glam site though. But anyways I love it all.!!

Yeah, I don't LOVE it all, unless it's good and OVERKILL is GREAT! Way better than the Big Four, except Megadeth.
