KISS Live on Australia's 'The Footy Show'

Earlier this week, KISS visited The Footy Show in Australia. The band perform "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Hell Or Hallelujah." The Footy Show looks like a hoot. Check it out.

This is going to sound crazy but KISS needs to change up their shows. They also need to get Ace and Peter back, but that is a different issue.

After seeing them for about the 15th time this summer, realized that their show is pretty much the same as it was 40 years ago, every time. There is zero spontaneity. That is the problem. Paul's voice is a bit rough too, but that's ok.

Just give us something different. Play C'Mon and Love Me, Watching You, 100,000 Years, etc. Even my friend Carolyne who saw them for the first time said the show seemed way too fake, way too rehearsed, which is not a lie.

Paul still looks awesome though and Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil need to take a page from his book, instead of letting themselves go and trying to hide it with long leather coats (like HIM pointed out).

I saw the original line-up of KISS back in '96 at Madison Square Garden and they were frickin' flawless. That said, Rita may have a point about overrehearsal.

Still, this is quite kick a*s. I actually think Thayer heavies up the sustain a little more which I think makes the songs a little harder. Rock and Roll!

I saw them 4 times on the 96/97 tour and to this day I will never forget those shows. It was like a dream come true seeing the original line up in the flesh for the first time. The best part for me was seeing the three of them lined up at the end of Deuce doing their thing. I still get chills thinking about that.

After 40 years, I'm sure it gets hard to keep it fresh but I think the shows would benefit from a little spontaneity. Still enjoyed seeing the show and Tommy and Eric played their parts well. sounds like Ace and Peter are gone for good, which to me is a shame though.

Wow, Rita! You ROCK! dunno if you remember me commenting awhile back about seeing KISS at Madison Square Garden. We were 4th Row in front of Ace and wound up having him served up on a silver platter, him striking the E Chord repeatedly at the conclusion of one of the last songs, pointing his black nailpolished hand right in my face like 5 times on the downstroke, hahaha!!! Now that's Rock & Roll!

p.s. I'm going on The Monsters of Rock Cruise this coming Saturday. If I'm lucky, I'm going to meet a Rock & Roll Girl, someone who knows how to ROCK, unlike so many of the Pitbull Gangnam Style chicks I either already know or keep meeting.

Saw the boys back in '79 on the Dynasty tour. Judas priest was the opening act. It was kind of a weird show because the original lineup was falling apart at that point, and they had those solo records out so they did one song from each record. Given how bad Gene's and Peter's solo albums were, you can imagine how those songs went over. :) anyway, yes, it would be great to see the original lineup make one more run of it, but I don't think it'll ever happen.

What do you mean Bob? You didn't like Gene's version of When You Wish Upon a Star???

I totally agree with you that Paul and Ace's solo albums were the best of the bunch. I still would have liked to have seen that 1979 show though, warts and all.

I guess the chances of Ace and Peter coming back are about the same as Axl and Slash patching things up. Too bad, we lose.

Ace and Peter are NEVER coming back. As a lifelong KISS fan (and they're my favorite band), I don't want them back. Peter can't hit the drums like he used to at all. "Noodle Arms" is what he's referred to, I believe. Ace's work ethic is sad. He took years to put out one album, which wasn't even that great. Now the dude can't even pay his mortgage. He could use his notoriety to make plenty of money doing a proper club tour - hell, he might even be able to get a support slot on a classic rock shed tour. But instead he plays sporadic shows to aging KISS fans. I saw him 4 or 5 years ago and have no desire to see him again. Tommy and Eric are great players who have given Gene and Paul a kick in the butt and have helped KISS continue for the past 9 years.
