KIX New Album In Pre-Production

Finally! KIX are in pre-production for their first new album since 1995. I've known the album was in the works for a while now... so it is good to hear things are moving along. KIX will use Taylor Rhodes to assist with the production. Rhodes produced Hot Wire, so this is going to be great!

Also, the KIX episode of That Metal Show will air on July 20th at 11pm on VH1 Classic.

A few songs that Steve wrote awhile back that were not included on earlier KIX albums may show up on this release. Steve did quite a bit of writing back in the day.. it's just that his songs were kept of the albums for financial reasons (royalties).

Without Donnie Purnell writing tunes, where are they getting material?

I would love to think that these guys are capable of writing 10-12 album worthy tunes, without going to outside writers. Or, at the very least, contract w/ Donnie to get him to write for them, still.

They slipped one new one in their set at M3 last month. So cool how they did it. Just played it in between two classics without any of the typical used car salesman preamble of our dear Mr. Whiteman.

Needless to say, the song wasn't that impressive. Well, it was okay. Just not as much going on with it as the Purnell stuff. Still, no doubt, KIX is one crack band, so I am waiting with baited ears to hear what they've got for us.

Hopefully, it's good enough to replace that (sorry) gawdawful "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" crap they now play EVERY gig. I really just don't need to be put through that 13 minutes of h*ll EVER again when these guys could be playin' three other songs during the same time period instead.

You know it's Whiteman that's keepin' that waste-of-time of a song on the set list so he can showboat his sh*tty comedy act.
