Roll That Beautiful KISS Footage!

Glammers, I've got some classic KISS goodness for you: footage of the band getting ready for the Rock and Roll Over tour way back in 1976. This is black and white, ya'll. Real KISS.

"Real KISS" is so right Allyson. Very cool.

After having read Peter Criss' book recently, I realized the Real KISS will NEVER get back together. And it made me very sad.

I know Gene and Paul have a bank vault full of cash and they don't need to tour for money. I guess they still get a kick out of it. But the dream for me has been shattered and I know now that Peter and Ace will never come back. I guess I have to get over it but it will take time.

Wow.Talk about flashbacks. This was the 1st concert yours truly ever went to. It was at the old Philly Civic center(long since torn down) and I was a ripe old 13 years old. Seeing as I turned 50 yesterday, thats one helluva long time ago! Thanks for this Ally!!

First off, Gary! Happy 50th Birthday! You are NOT old, just "older". And as your "Elder", (see how I worked that in, Kiss Fans?) at 52, I can tell you it's not so bad. We saw all the truly great bands, long before they were nostalgia acts.

My first Kiss concert was on the Dressed To Kill/Alive! tour, & those 4 musicians giving 120% onstage, with just a backline of amps, and a couple of explosions, is still the best show I've ever seen. Unfortunately Frehley & Criss both got lazy, and got sidelined by drugs, alcohol, & bad attitudes. I'm glad that Stanley & $immons still put the effort in to give the best show possible. Shouts out my 2 friends who have stepped in to the drum & lead guitar spots!
KISS is now stable, has a solid drummer & a lead guitarist who shows up, is sober, & plays in key! I'd rather have this current version of KISS, than no KISS at all.

And my buddy Eric Singer has a message for those who want to diss him for wearing the Cat makeup:

Great piece of Metal Detection work, Allyson. I feel like a Special Agent of a Secret Task Force who's been asked to authenticate and verify some rare grainy black & white footage.

And what footage it is! Thanks for sharing!

KISS was my first rock concert as well, except that, unfortunately, it was in 1979 on the Dynasty tour. It was still the four original members, but they had clearly had it with each other by this point, and were just phoning it in. It was still a fun show, but musically, the opening act, Judas Priest, blew KISS off the stage.
