AC/DC Release Video For 'Play Ball'

AC/DC has released the official video for "Play Ball." The song is from the album Rock or Bust due December 2. A little under whelmed, but hey, you basically know what you're gonna get music-wise with AC/DC at this point, right?

Ive never been a huge fan of ac/dc...but this video makes me smile..probably because I love to see a band come out on top after a member departure. Honestly,...this is pretty good!

I tend to over-think things like this. But the contrast in imagery between this and _Ballbreaker_ is too apparent to not note. One lumbers then slams, one rolls and sorta' cracks.

The other thing that strikes me as jarring: this is the least innuendo-laden use of a potentially obvious "titter" that I have ever seen or heard from AC/DC. Put aside _Ballbreaker_ for a moment (or even the deep veins--pun intended--of the Scott-era); this isn't even _Heatseeker_. Even the harsh contrast between football and pool seems confused, not spot on. In this video, a ping-pong ball would have been more appropriate.

I am not one for purity. Swap 'em in and out if the music remains the focus. But having your friend Frank (okay, his real name is Bob) fill in for Rudd (reasons apparent or otherwise) and your cousin (very apparent) fill in for Malcom? Hmmm. It makes me miss Malcolm's deft touch even more.

I will still see them on tour if I can. But, as I said in a previous post in response to Metalboy!, this is likely an end run and not a long sprint. _Live at River Plate_ doesn't seem to be in cards, for various reasons.

Let's Play Ball? Not exactly. More like, let's play cards.

I've heard all the music from AC/DC that I need to. Not big on new stuff from them. But definitely respect them as a kick ass rock n roll band for nearly 40 years.

This sounds incredible! It ain't no "Ballbreaker", as HIM notes, but that's one of my favorite songs.

And, DJ, this sounds fresh to me. Hardly rehash. It's amazing to me how 40 years on, these guys are still at it.

I will definitely catch them this tour, which could very well be their last, as HIM suggests.

They sure don't need the money, so it must be out of their pure love of Rock & Roll!
