Steven Tyler, Nuno Bettencourt Share Stage

Steven Tyler and Nuno Bettencourt were recently in South Africa for a press event. Both guys were there to perform with supergroup Kings of Chaos. Tyler and Bettencourt jammed together on "More Than Words" at the presser and it was epic. You can tell they hadn't rehearsed the song much more than one time - Steven is even reading the words. But they gave it a go and the results are pretty awesome. I mean, think about it: Steven Tyler knows that every performance he gives is recorded and watched around the world immediately. He gave it his all, and I love that! Oh and you can really hear how strong Nuno's voice is here -- also great!

I wouldn't want to commit this to memory either!

Unfortunately, I had to witness this live one of the first times Bettencourt played it in NYC back in the day with... um, oh yeah, Extreme at The Cat Club.

I will admit, "Kid Ego" sounded pretty good, though.

p.s. Love the Aerosmith double header take over ya got goin' on here, Al. What's with all the foolin' around? Where the h*ll's "Rocks II"? Looks like The Toxic Twins need better handlers and get on with the business at hand!

I know Metalboy! Rock 2 would be my dream! But apparently Joe is making beans and casseroles and Steven is flying around the world, so I guess it won't happen anytime soon... - Allyson

Was never a big fan of this song, or Extreme in general, but huge props to these guys for pulling off quite well what was maybe only one step above an impromptu performance.

Metalboy: I was there point blank when that Halloween song (that him recently mentioned) was written. It's an autobiographical ditty. Stop your nonsense rock throwing.

You know, sometimes it's more internal than environmental. Bio psychosocial. And, now, medical.

That's right nikki. I couldn't understand you fucking with me too. I was ignoring you, hoping you would stop.

You want to put your money where your mouth is? Hamper time again, him. Nikki taught me that.

Thanks, Al, for your response. These guys got it, they just don't need to waste time. Better handlers = "Rocks II"! They can do it! Bob, you are right! Boston boys, two generations, with Tyler even reading it off a printout, and he kinda pulled it off! A testimony to his pure talent. Bettencourt has it committed to memory for obvious reasons. For Tyler, it isn't worth occupying the brain space where "I'll Be Home Tonight" lives, a clearly superior Powerballad over "Morn Than Cough, Cough, Cough!...Ugh! p.s. No doubt, Bettencourt's got the talent, he just needed to get away from those dicks, Extreme!

Got a question my metal buddies: what really are the "Kings of Chaos"? do they just do one off shows? how does the varying lineups work?

Damn. That was pretty awesome for an off the cuff performance. Not a huge fan of this song, but I actually liked it more with Tyler singing it. As for Nuno, the guy is an incredible guitarist. The intro to "Mama, don't wanna go to school today" is freaking epic. He's also now probably pulling down some serious coin for being Rhianna's touring guitarist? Good for him. I know I wouldn't mind getting paid for standing behind her every night....lmfao

Haha, Gary!

Hey, Crued... I just happened to watch a bunch of videos of Kings of Chaos on Metal Sludge, I think... They have a revolving cast of characters coming in and out of the line-up but the core group is something like Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke.

Add revolving door members Tyler, Billy Gibbons, Robin Zander and a host of others who each take turns doing their hits with the added benefit of some of the singers dueting, i.e. Tyler and Zander teaming up for The Beatles' immortal "Come Together", a natural choice for them since Tyler and Co. performed that in the movie "Sgt. Peppers" plus Zander singing it in Cheap Trick's performances of the entire album of the same name in places like Vegas, etc.
