Dee Snider Stars In Super Bowl Ad

A ton of 80s icons gathered together to create an epic Radio Shack ad that aired during the Super Bowl. I thought most of the ads fell flat, but Radio Shack really hit it out of the park. Bonus: Dee Snider is very prominent. Twisted Sister forever! Maybe our resident ad expert Metalboy! can give us an educated critique of this one.

This was my favorite commercial too. What a colorful decade I grew up in. Love it

Ad was great! Did nothing for Radio Shack's reputation though. Still only go there for the odd cable, wire or something.

Was that Dee? Was so quick I thought it may have been an impersonator, just like 90% if peeps in ad.

At least they're back to calling themselves Radio Shack. Remember a couple years ago when they briefly changed their name to The Shack, in some lame attempt to be hip or something.

Ha!, Allyson! That is funny calling me an "ad expert". Please keep in mind, I AM METALBOY! and merely posed as an advertising executive for years in NYC so as to fly under the radar of the Metallicans and the Iron Maidenites, affording me the ability to fight the good fight for REAL Metal, against that idealess greaser noise those two sh*te comedy acts try to pass off as Metal when everyone knows it's Heavy Prog.

Back on the Radio Shack spot... It was thought to be the best commercial by many. My personal favorite was done by the NYC office of BBDO, featuring a little girl riding a Masteff for Doritos.

...and two days later they announce 500 store closings and layoffs. I'd say they wasted a $1MM for superbowl rights, plus whatever they paid the celebs.

I liked the commercial where they played Sabbath a lot better than this one.
