Metallica 'ManUNkind' Video Premiere

Metallica has just premiered the video for "ManUNkind," another track off the band's new album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. It comes out this Friday - be ready, go buy it!

Almost, I say almost, hits at the edges of Death Metal logo unreadability. Sorta' a Hot Topic approximation. But damn if some fan won't think twice and think "hey, that's cool" . . . and then watch the video and go, "Oh."

Oh, the music? Hmm . . . more of the same return to the old-ish sound. I almost thought they were going through the never (if you catch, and you do, my meaning).

Sad thing is, that guy sorta' looks like Tom G. Warrior. Sad because now I wish Het' (they are still doing that abbreviation thing, right?) sounded--hell, wish the band sounded--like Celtic Frost. The pig thing? A bit gauche (not gouche, heavens be!). Mayhem look nothing like Celtic Frost, sound nothing like them either. Unless there is some other band I am missing or they are just throwing it all in a Metal Ninja set on pulse and going for a "har har" pastiche of some stuff.

Nice to be back after a spell. Try the veal.

Pretty good but not as good as "Hardwired", the title track of this latest album and not just their best song in decades but, after multiple listenings, IMHO, one of their best songs EVER!

Now, the video, on the other hand is VERY clever -- not quite brilliant, as Metallica isn't the first to take the approach of replacing themselves with a younger band in a video. Still, the huffing scene at the top, the blood letting and the Pig head collective hors d'oeuvres are a bit much.

". . . one of their best songs EVER!"

No, Metalboy! No. That is not even possible. Even if you are joking, that isn't funny.
