Nikki Sixx Takes On Opioid Abuse

Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue is taking on opioid abuse. That's good because the U.S. government sure is failing. Maybe musicians can save us after all. If you read the comments on Nikki's Facebook post, you will find a lot of people sharing their personal stories. This is a crisis, especially in places like my hometown and other small midwestern towns.

thoughts? will they get boo'd or is Ac/Dc's audience mature enough to enjoy it?

Hope that's not true, crued. With all due respect, just not a fan of that band. Is it even hard rock or what would it be considered? Idk maybe aor??? Anyway, if they are opening, i doubt if many will try to get there to see them. A true rocking, established hard rock band with some history would be a much better choice imo. We shall see!

I like The Struts - they are a lot of fun live, and Luke Spiller (lead singer) is a great, charismatic front man. They definitely have a different vibe & sound than AC/DC, but my guess is that the crowd will mostly enjoy them. I mean, they are basically just a straight-ahead rock band.

Illegal opiods and legal opiods - there is a difference Nikki :)

I really enjoyed the Struts live. Then bought the CD and didn't really dig it at all.

They would be a good fit for AC/DC tour. We all have our favorites we would like to see get that exposure, but yea I think they would go over well.

As for finding a "more established" band, screw that. AC/DC could sell out stadiums with no support, so the right thing to do is take out a young act who could use the exposure... last time I saw them it was Vintage Trouble opening and I thought they were fantastic.

Actually, there's very little difference between legal and illegal opioids. I've seen both up close in my own family. Both can destroy individuals and families physically, emotionally, financially, psychologically, and completely.

Exactly What Eddie said. In a shit ton of cases, what starts out as a prescribed “legal” paper n reliever, steamrolls into chaos at a quietly frightening pace.. It’s steady, it’s tenacious, and it’s very patient, in that you’ll fight it till your dying day, which all too often comes rapidly if you continue to roll the proverbial dice.

*Update* with a lil eye candy boys... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3aQx8-tpCc&list=PLixbsCLNy0SpwtzKg3_VIsz-zm2t3iaTH

There are times where I think the lead singer could have pulled off the Freddy Mercury role in the bio picture *shrugs*
