Sunday's Best: Week 26, 2022

I give Bret Michaels mad props. I was skeptical that Poison would be able to do their set in Jacksonville, Florida last night, but they did. Bret was hospitalized just a couple days ago - and last night he was back on stage, jumping up and down and performing for the crowd. That's our respectful Sunday's Best for this week.

Poison did an abbreviated set for The Stadium Tour stop last night, playing six songs and a guitar solo. This was to help Bret in his recovery, but from the videos I watched he sure seemed to have loads of energy. The weather was bad for the show and it rained a lot, which probably didn't help matters.

As much as I bag on Bret and his machinations (and pet rocks), glad to see him back up and running (even if at half speed). I am sure that Poison fans were happy with even an abbreviated set.

Yeah, glad to see he’s back … However, he still doesn’t get it … I know I seemingly go on and on ad nauseam about this, but his canned in-between-songs jolly boy b.s. and incessant pointing and shaking hands with the audience, fist punching his chest (where his heart should be if he had a real one) are so annoyingly distracting, goofy and disingenuous, he just comes off as plain UNROCK!!!

He tirelessly injects the name POISON into every song intro (which he also doesn’t need to make … I mean, is he trying to brainwash the name POISON into everyone’s head? …

And I quote from what might as well be a pre-recorded message as it’s the same crap he doles out at every stop on the tour:

“How about a little POISON ‘Your Mama Don’t Dance’?” … He literally says POISON in between almost every song … Don’t believe me? … Just watch some of the video coming up on YouTube every day … And why are they even wasting precious stage time doing covers when they could be playing stuff like “Cry Tough”?

In the words of Joe Perry, “Let The Music Do The Talking”.

Well, Metalboy!, you are right on all counts. I was trying to be a bit diplomatic. But you went for the win. And win you did.

There is a lot behind his facade that reeks of calculation, no less treating band mates and fans like they are chits on his Mohair abacus (meaning: brain, which resides underneath a bandanna, which holds together a fine dangle of Angora goat faux-follicles).

In other news, glad to see you posting!

He is talking down to the audience … Give the audience a little credit, Breck!

More on this later … An encounter with Michaels right from the stage and in my face … I’ve spoken about it here before and may need to revisit it again soon!

Waaahhh! HaHaHaHaHa!!!

Is anyone surprised that mb has another problem? This week it's Breck Michaels, next week will be Vince Meal, the week after that? Bon Anchovy. Yet, narry a word about, CC, Nikki or Sambora and how they treat others.

Maybe I should revisit some things and the atrocities that people did, in real time, in my face.
