Are You A Veteran? KISS Needs A Carpenter

This is very cool of KISS. As part of the NBC Hiring our Heroes event, KISS will hire a veteran to fill an open slot among their touring ranks for this summer.

KISS is looking for a carpenter for their tour with Motley Crue this summer. No previous carpentry experience is necessary. You will work long (I'm betting super long) hours, assemble the KISS stage set, run effects and tear down after the concerts are over.

To apply for this job, send an email to hiringourheroes@uschamber.com with your resume and contact details.

If you are the lucky veteran who lands this job - and you happen to get it because you saw this post - you better send me an email to tell me about it!

The New Crazy Lixx Will Be Epic

Crazy Lixx, one of my fave Swedish Glam bands, will release Riot Avenue April 24. The first single from the new album is "In The Night." The song is awesome, has a sleaze swagger and just screams glam metal.

If you haven't heard it yet, check it out below. I'm planning to interview the band soon and will also have a full album review here.

Robbie Crane Leaves RATT

In a shock move, bassist Robbie Crane up and quit RATT. He left an official statement on his Facebook page regarding his decision to depart the band:

"After 15 years, I have made the decision to move on from Ratt. Thank you to all of the Ratt fans who have been so supportive through my tenure. It has been a pleasure!"

Robbie still has his gig with Lynch Mob. Does this mean RATT is about to reunite with Juan Croucier? Things might get really interesting soon. Especially since RATT is still working on a new album... and who plays bass with RATT at M3 this summer? Inquiring minds want to know.

Discuss.

Embrace the live RATT history below.

I hope this tour swings around the U.S. again after hitting Europe, because I don't see a single date I can make and basically my entire summer concert season was going to revolve around Aerosmith. To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Vince Neil Has 'No Regrets'

Vince Neil did an interview recently with Vegas Rocks Magazine. During the interview, he talks about his new strip club venture, having "no regrets" and being true friends with the rest of the guys in Motley Crue. Vince seems very calm in this interview - like he's truly comfortable with the reporter, his surroundings, and his life.

Acey Slade, FDCs Plan Vinyl Release

I have some news to pass along from friend of BBG!, guitarist Acey Slade. He's teaming up with the FDCs for a vinyl release to celebrate national record store day. I fully support record store day and I'm glad so many artists are doing special projects like this to bring attention to the nearly-lost medium known as vinyl. Here's the details:

In celebration of NATIONAL RECORD STORE DAY on Saturday, April 21st 2012, renegade punk rock label DELERICT RECORDS are teaming up with TRASHPIT RECORDS to release a brand new split 7" single featuring New York's techno alternative rockers ACEY SLADE & THE DARK PARTY with underground Kings of Schtick JD & THE FDCs. The Double A Sided Coloured Vinyl 7" will feature the new FDC Single 'Burn This City Down' backed with 'Suicide Lullaby' from The Dark Party. Both tracks have been fully remastered in preparation for their vinyl debuts and promise some stunning artwork which has become a trademark of TrashPit Records releases.

FDC Leader and Frontman Jamie Delerict commented on the reasons behind the partnership and the old school vinyl approach.

"Personally, my music hasn't appeared on vinyl since 1998. Delerict Records last pressed a couple of 7" records way back in 1996, so this is LONG overdue! I've had a longstanding relationship with Rob and Trashpit for nearly a decade and the FDCs have a lot of history with Acey and his band too. It's a natural fit!"

The Split 7" Single will be available to pre-order from APRIL 1st from either www.jdandthefdcs.com or www.thedarkparty.co.uk

The single release will also tie in with the premiere of the new JD & THE FDC's Promo Video for 'Burn This City Down' directed by Free Running Films.

If you don't know The Dark Party, check out the song "Baby, The Stars Shine Brightly"

Mad Max, 'Rocklahoma'

Yes kids, Mad Max wrote a song about Rocklahoma. Yeah, that Rocklahoma. Mad Max is a German band that was formed in the very early 80s. They broke-up and then reformed years ago and played Rocklahoma in 2009 and 2010. I was at each one of those events and I honestly don't remember watching Mad Max. I'm sure it was a side stage situation where other bands were playing at the same time.

The band will release Another Night of Passion next week which is the sequel to the 1987 release Night of Passion.

You can check out the entire song over at Noisecreep.
