Happy Thanksgiving To Our Regular 'Crue'

In America, it's Thanksgiving - one of the very best holidays of the year. In fact, it has probably surpassed Halloween as my favorite holiday. There's food (dressing! rolls! noodles! pie!) and football and time off work... so what's not to love?

In Glam news, there's a new Motley Crue box set to lust after... and it comes in vinyl! Crucial Crue will feature the band's first five albums. I actually already own those releases on vinyl but for folks who like to collect rare, colored albums, this set makes sense. The set will come out February 17, 2023... and cost around $175. You can pre-order the set now.

Thank You Mick Mars, For All The Memories

The rumors were true - or at least partially so. Mick Mars, Motley Crue guitarist, will retire from touring. He remains a member of the band, meaning any new music Motley might release should include Mick.

As you probably know, Mick has a debilitating disease called Ankylosing spondylitis which makes moving incredibly painful over time. Mick has been living with the condition for decades.

I was amazed (in a good way!) that Mick made it through The Stadium Tour over the summer. That was a lot of dates and it is clear his condition is worsening. Also, he isn't 30 anymore. No word if John 5 really will replace Mick in the touring version of Motley. I thank Mick for so many good concert memories and I'm glad I got to see the original Crue lineup live many times!

Motley Crue, Def Leppard Announce European, Latin American Tour

I guess the rumors of The Stadium Tour going global were true. Motley Crue and Def Leppard will go to Europe and Latin America in 2023 and it looks like tickets go on sale next Friday. The run starts in Mexico in February and hits the UK in May. Like The Stadium Tour this is a co-headline event and Live Nation is the producer. Get ready for dynamic ticket pricing!

I guess we will see if the rumors about John 5 playing guitar instead of Mick Mars for this next run are true soon enough.

Los Angeles Pays Respects To Taylor Hawkins

Like the UK version, there was a big Taylor Hawkins tribute concert last night in Los Angeles. Loads of famous musicians came out to show their support - including Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, who played some Motley Crue classics. Wolfgang Van Halen shredded some Van Halen hits again and Sebastian Bach was there too.

The show raised money for Music Support and MusiCares.

Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee Were On 'Entertainment Tonight'

I really never watch Entertainment Tonight. By chance, I clicked it on last night while I was waiting for Big Brother to start. I ended up seeing the last 10 minutes of ET and lo and behold - there was a feature on Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee. This definitely surprised me. There was mention of the success of The Stadium Tour, details on the movie The Retaliators which features Motley Crue on the soundtrack and of course a Pamela Anderson mention. The entire package is below.

Do We Really Need Another Motley Crue Vegas Residency?

I'm so old I remember when Motley Crue signed a contract to stop touring. Of course, we all basically assumed that was just for show. Naturally, a big payday was offered to "end retirement" and Motley embarked on this summer's Stadium Tour. It was a massive success. Now, the band wants to tour internationally again and do another Las Vegas residency.

I can sort of understand the international tour. The Las Vegas residency seems a bit much so soon after the Stadium Tour. There's such a thing as market saturation. Then again, Def Leppard sure tours a lot and they don't seem to have problems selling tickets. I'll sit out the residency personally.

I hope Mick Mars stays as healthy as possible. You would have to think all those shows are hard on him.

Motley Crue - 'Live Wire' - Miami, Florida

The Stadium Tour made a stop in Miami, Florida on Friday and Saturday nights. I have to say, the clip of "Live Wire" below sounds pretty good. It is from the Friday performance.

Vince Neil has better pacing and Mick Mars is up and around. The crowd looks huge from Tommy Lee's photos, also below. Good for them.
