Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee Were On 'Entertainment Tonight'

I really never watch Entertainment Tonight. By chance, I clicked it on last night while I was waiting for Big Brother to start. I ended up seeing the last 10 minutes of ET and lo and behold - there was a feature on Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee. This definitely surprised me. There was mention of the success of The Stadium Tour, details on the movie The Retaliators which features Motley Crue on the soundtrack and of course a Pamela Anderson mention. The entire package is below.

Poor Dog...

Tommy Lee pulled a live Dachshund from his pants at Motley Crue's Saturday show in Los Angeles. The show was part of The Stadium Tour, of course. If you're wondering, Tommy's wife has a Dachshund for a pet, so let's assume the dog belongs to her.

The Stadium Tour is grossing like $5 million bucks a night (Pollstar). Yep. You can view the whole video of Tommy Lee with the dog in his pants at his Instagram below.

Tommy Lee Is A Teenager, I Swear

Tommy Lee, a married, middle-aged man, father, and wealthy drummer for a very successful rock band, shared a nude photo of himself on social media overnight. Dude is 59. Fans of Motley Crue are even older. Tommy continues to act like a teenager, so much so, that it is actually shocking to me at this point. Like, how can you just act that crazy for so many years? On a very busy news days, I guess this was one way for Tommy Lee to make himself "trend." Cringeworthy times a million.

Life is Craise

tommyland.jpgNow to the promised review of Tommyland, the bestselling autobiography of our friend and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

Not nearly as good or thorough as The Dirt, Tommyland has a unique voice that gives readers insight into the mental meanderings of Lee's lifestyle, habits and attitudes. While some stories in Tommyland overlap with those in The Dirt, most accounts are of Tommy's time in jail, his sexual exploits, kids,  and his passion for music. In fact, a lot of time is simply devoted to music. Tommy invents new words to express how he feels about a certain subject. I don't know if this is born of creativity or a lack of proper vocabulary, but it makes the book interesting in its own way (read Tommyland, and you'll understand the title of this blog entry).

A big drawback of the book are the countless footnotes. Meant to add humor, they often detract the reader's attention, breaking up the normal cycle of reading and properly digesting a work. Otherwise, I'd say this an above-average rock biography.

Sidenote:
Another indication that glam is coming back. A Christmas Eve trip to Kmart netted toys for family pets and a surprise glam find! In the toy aisle, a Bratz brand tank top with the word "GLAM" spelled out in rhinestones. If that doesn't mean something huge, then I don't know what does.
