Drummer Rikki Rockett is doing the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride this May to raise money for men's health, especially prostate cancer. The ride is a worldwide event and Rikki is a co-city host for the Los Angeles ride.

His goal is only $2,000, so very modest (he will reach it by the end of the day I'm sure). He's been doing the ride since 2017.

If You Need A Little 'Top Gun' In Your Life

Steven Stevens was one of the many musicians that participated in the "Rock for Responders" concert last month at the USS Iowa battleship museum in San Pedro, Calif.

I happened along this video last night while scrolling for something else completely. I stopped and watched the entire clip and just appreciated the song for what it is: a great movie theme. Remember, Stevens did win a Grammy for best instrumental pop performance of the song back at the 1987 awards show.

Carlos Santana Announces Las Vegas Residency

Santana is just the latest act to sign up for a residency in Las Vegas.

The shows will be at the House of Blues during September and November. It's been a minute, but the last time I was in the HoB inside Mandalay Bay, I remember thinking the club wasn't too big. So this will be a unique chance to see the guitar legend really close. Tickets on sale Friday!

Feels Like Yesterday

Today marks 34 years since Extreme released "More Than Words" as a single. A truly great song that changed the trajectory of the band.

Also, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt looks beautiful in the video. I suspect this clip is what made him a heartthrob back in the early 90s. Metal Edge loved to share posters of him!

I am so glad it is the weekend.

Somehow I managed to successfully make it through a cardio pilates class which includes lots of reformer jumping. By the time I made it to my car, the headache that was just a nag before class became a full-on scream, complete with stabbing pains in my left ear for extra joy. Your girl is staying in bed the rest of the day, house chores be damned. Not even classic hair metal can fix this level of headache. Bleh.

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is out here living his best life and I'm here for it. This is a totally wholesome post and the comments are basically great, too. Surprising to see since Facebook is basically a dumpster fire now. Happy Friday!

Drummer Frank Ferrer Leaves Guns n' Roses

Frank Ferrer served as drummer for Guns n' Roses for the past 19 years. His departure was announced yesterday via official band social media channels. Apparently, the exit was amicable so that is good news I guess. Will be interesting to see who gets to sit behind the kit for Gn'R next (and no it won't be Steven Adler, sadly. I just don't think it would be physically possible). Any ideas?

Well, that didn't take long! The new GnR drummer is Isaac Carpenter. You might know him from his drum work with Duff McKagan's side project, Loaded.
