That AC/DC Tour Rumor Gains Steam

I've been seeing rumors about an upcoming AC/DC tour announcement online the past few days. Apparently someone in the AC/DC camp posted a date for Minneapolis, MN on April 11. The post has since been deleted (obviously). Looks like a spring run is coming to America for sure and I bet the tickets are going on sale ASAP. Time will tell but I would think the announcement will be tomorrow or so.

I don't plan on attending this tour. I've seen AC/DC live before and I have to save my concert funds for other shows.

Wait? How Did I Miss South of Salem?

South of Salem are a traditional rock outfit from Bournemouth, UK. I discovered them while looking up some Wednesday 13 videos on YouTube. Lo and behold, South of Salem have been on tour with Hardcore Superstar... and Wednesday 13.

A couple of songs that stood out to me:

"Jet Black Eyes"

"Cold Day In Hell." This track even has a classic glam "slowdown" before the big guitar solo!

What do you think? I definitely understand why they are on a tour with Hardcore Superstar and Wednesday 13. They fit right into that modern glam, horror-goth lane.

Cool Retro Ad

Nostalgia Sunday over here.

Ok, who are we kidding? Every day is about nostalgia around these parts. I spied the post below the other day on Facebook. Check out the cool vintage ad for my beloved Aerosmith Live! Bootleg.

There are actually staged photos and copy to match, making it a true work of advertising art. There's a nice write-up of the album, too. Plus extra points for the Steely Dan write-up on the same page.

Aerosmith and Steely Dan together in one magazine spread? Oh my! It's like someone downloaded my brain and puked out Billboard's November 4, 1978 issue. Perfection.

Dorothy, 'The Devil I Know'

New music Saturday!

I've been a big fan of Dorothy for a hot minute now. A lot of her tracks get a regular rotation on my running and work playlists. On Halloween, she released a new song called "The Devil I Know." I expect this track to get heavy rotation on the Sirius Octane channel very soon.

"The Devil I Know" especially reminds me a lot of Halestorm and I think you'll like it as much as I do. The track will be included on Dorothy's upcoming album, but no title or release date have been announced yet.

Bon Jovi & Pitbull Announce Collab Track 'Now Or Never'

A remix of "It's My Life" is coming soon!

Jon Bon Jovi and Pitbull are friends and they've performed together in the past. Now Pitbull, a.k.a. "Mr. Worldwide" will team up with Bon Jovi for "Now Or Never." The remix is coming out November 14, the same day as the Latin Grammy awards. Yes, both Pitbull and Jon Bon Jovi will be performing at that awards show. I am assuming it will be together for the first live performance of this new song, but we'll see.

Also, remember when Joe Perry recorded with Pitbull? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Once Bitten To Honor Late Singer Jack Russell

Previously known as Jack Russell's Great White, the remaining members of the band are now known as Once Bitten. The band will hold a memorial concert for Jack Russell at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles this January.

Proceeds from the show will go toward Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) and Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) causes. Russell died August 7 from LBD.

Information on tickets is coming soon but I think this is a nice idea. I am sure the show will be packed.

'You Can't Stop Rock N' Roll'

For whatever reason, the original video for Twisted Sister's song "You Can't Stop Rock N' Roll" wasn't available on the band's official YouTube channel... until now.

The song is from the 1983 album of the same name and it is also my favorite Twisted Sister release. Just raw and outrageous rock.
