Farewell Former Iron Maiden Singer Paul Di'Anno

The first singer for Iron Maiden, Paul Di'Anno, has died. Di'Anno sang on Maiden's first two albums. He has been sick for quite some time and passed at his home in the U.K. at age 66.

Di'Anno battled sepsis, MRSA and PTSD over the past decade. Despite this, Di'Anno performed a lot of shows in 2023 but he was in a wheelchair. Past drug and alcohol issues compounded the health issues.

After the news of Di'Anno's passing, Iron Maiden released an official statement:

Richie Kotzen, 'Escape' - New Visualizer Clip

Another new track from Richie Kotzen's latest album Nomad! Kotzen just released the visualizer clip for his song "Escape."

I like "Escape" quite a lot. A couple of the lines made me chuckle and I was nodding along. This track is more in line with other Kotzen efforts of the past and isn't as slow or "dreamy" as some other songs on Nomad.

The Easiest Glam Metal Quiz Ever

I like MeTV because I like old sitcoms. Things like The Andy Griffith Show, MASH and The Munsters are my jam. MeTV plays a lot of old shows like this and they make up goofy quizzes to add to their web content.

I noticed the MeTV Facebook page posted a hair metal quiz last night. I got excited until I saw the actual questions. If you miss even one of these, you are definitely NOT working to bring back glam and we just can't be friends.

An Update From Jake E. Lee Himself

Guitarist Jake E. Lee is on the mend after being the victim of a random shooting the other day. Now he's posting on Facebook and explaining his injuries. The post also breaks some news that there were 15 shell casings recovered at the scene. It's amazing Jake is alive.

Well Wishes For Guitarist Jake E. Lee

I definitely did a double-take last night when I saw the headline that Jake E. Lee had been shot while walking his dog in Las Vegas. The apparent random shooting happened in the middle of the night. 

Lee was shot three times and now we know he was hit in the chest, arm and foot. A bullet hit his lung but he is expected to make a full recovery.

As a Bandlands fanatic, this news was obviously very upsetting. Add in the apparent worthless gun violence and it is just maddening on a whole other level. 

When the news about Lee starting coming out - and seemingly everyone had the story, from the Associated Press to Breitbart - fellow musicians sent positive messages. Here are a few:

Ozzy Osbourne has commented on the shooting of his former guitarist Jake E. Lee, calling the incident “another senseless act of gun violence.”

Stryper, 'Betrayed By Love' - New Video

Stryper just premiered a video for their song "Betrayed By Love." The track is on the new album When We Were Kings via Frontiers.

I saw lots of comments asking if some of the video was made with A.I. It does sort of look that way, doesn't it?
