How Did I Miss The New Hardline?

Back in May, Hardline released the album Danger Zone via Frontiers. I can't believe I missed this one. Have you seen the video for "Fever Dreams?" Do you own this release? What do you think?

Sounds good. Classic Hardline. I like it. I wonder what the rest of the CD is like.

Obviously not all original members (No Schon) and they didn't use to have a female bassist before.
Singer sounds the same though.

Not sure, but I think the singer is the only original member. Maybe one other. The guitars are the guy from Eden's Curse. Quality!

The real band to check out is Brunette! That was the singer's first band and way more killer than Hardline!

Another deep dig Metalboy! Killerhit as well?

But this band lives by Johnny's singing. In AOR, he is vastly underrated. Though the Schon era actually proved a curse, their most recognized song (a cover no less) "Hot Cherie" is an incredible bit of glam-ish sleaze (check those non-PC lyrics out).

Gioeli sells it while Spanos suggests it. Schon's contributions are minimal. Their latest album proves that.

HIM! Nice YouTube pulls, Bro. As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of an accidental AORer myself really from scouring for everything in the 80's Hair Metal Pantheon, more than anything else. I just checked my iTunes only to find the last time I listened to "Hot Cherie", let alone anything else from Hardline, on October 29th, 2010, and I have to be honest, as great a singer as Gioeli is, I don't miss 'em.

On the other hand... And now for Brunette:

Not only is their music WAY more bada*s than anything Hardline ever did, they look cooler, too. Further proof that, in the final analysis, it doesn't mean sh*t how many albums you sell, it's the quality of the music that really counts!

It is great to see a Hardline album in 2012. I've heard the album and I'm impressed. 'Fever Dreams', '10,000 Reasons', and 'Stay' are highlights.
