Want: Metal Tribute to Michael Jackson

Everyone knows I love Michael Jackson's music. He created some brilliant, timeless pop classics. Well, a lot of metal musicians must agree because they got together to create a tribute album to the late King of Pop. Called Thriller: A Metal Tribute to Michael Jackson, the album features members from bands we love like Mr. Big, Whitesnake, Guns n' Roses, Queensryche, Asking Alexandria and more.

Some of the songs on the album include "Thriller," "Dirty Diana," "Smooth Criminal," "Man in the Mirror" and all your other favorites.

The album is out now and available on Amazon.

I read about this CD a couple weeks ago. I was excited at first cause I love Michael Jackson's music as well.

After I heard the songs though, I was not impressed. It should have been really cool. I still love Alien Ant Farms cover of "Smooth Criminal".

The only other cover I liked on the CD was "They Don't Care About Us" I can't remember who played on that song though.

The cover of "Dirty Diana" w/Chris Jericho seems off. The original Michael Jackson version w/Steve Stevens rocks a lot more.

I read about this too and I was excited, although I am not the biggest pop fan, Michael Jackson still made some killer classic timeless music. Ive always liked Alien Ant Farms version of Smooth Criminal. Maybe ill buy this if I see it in the near future.

Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal is always good. But the rest ? eh... I'll take Chris Cornell doing an acoustic version of Billie Jean over anything else on this album. Look for better covers of these songs elsewhere.

Thanks 4 putting that up GNR,
I knew he covered that song but for some reason I never heard it til now. They should have had Chris Cornell take part in the CD. Even though it was acoustic he could have done a studio version of it. He gave it a haunting stark vibe. It would have fit in perfectly.

That was pretty much unlistenable.

I had just ordered this, actually. Now I hope I like it better than everyone else here seems to have :)

Another pile of crap for your crap heap you call a CD collection, Christian, save for Accept and Black Veil Brides, of course, haha.

GNR said it. For the most part, there are better covers already out there, "Beat It" by Fall Out Boy with John Mayer, for one.

I can't stand either of those acts, so imagine just how I felt when I heard them crank out "Beat It". I was stunned how excellemt they are, particularly Mayer, who sounds like an absolute Metal Monster on it.

Yuck. I'm not a big fan of child molesters. But that's just me.

bkallday,
Nobody would be a fan of his if they believed what the media wants you to believe about him. Read the book 'Conspiracy' written by Aphrodite Jones. She was at the 2005 trial everyday & she came in to it from day one thinking just like you. But day after day she was shocked at how the media would twist everything around and not report the truth. There was not a single piece of evidence against him at all. It was all lies from a family out for money. The only people that looked bad during that trial were the people making the false accusations.

Just recently Corey Feldmen gave a interview talking about how the police questioned him about Michael Jackson. He said Michael never touch him once but that he(Corey)had been molested as a child by other people in the industry & he even named names but the police never questioned those people, no reports were filed, nothing.

All they cared about was some kind of dirt on Michael Jackson.
It was a modern day witch hunt.
