So Bret Michaels Released A Dance Track

Clearly the world is coming to an end because Bret Michaels thought it would be genius to release a dance track. The song is called "You Know You Want It" and it's just terrible. You have to go to Myspace to hear the track (seriously). Check it out.

Midway through my first listen I was laughing so hard I started to cry and then couldn't breathe.

If you love it (which you won't), you can buy the song now on Amazon. The track will be on Bret's new album Good Songs & Great Friends due next month. I gotta say, even the art for the "You Know You Want It" single freaks me out a little...

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, Americans! I can't wait for your comments on this one.

Metalboys assessment of the situation is dead on, Bert only hurt his solo career by turning his back on Poison and I agree with the comments that Poison could have been as big as Motley or Def Leppard on the touring circuit if Bert hadn't diminished the brand.

Just when I thought Bret had plumbed the dregs of desperation w/ this dance track piece of garbage, Bret further sinks into more irrelavance with "Every Pet Needs A Home"... Shilling for PetSmart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHafUaTr2_I

Bret. Just stop it... Please. Retire.

You guys are killing me. Saints Of Los Angeles was garbage....

You're garbage Kenny. I'm gonna assume that in your opinion, the cd they did with Corabi was their best? It mayve not been SATD part 2 but SOLA kicked ass!

Precisely, Bry.

While Michaels is spinning his wheels tryin' everything he can to make. Buck, what would it hurt to give another shot at writing an original Poison album?

Hell, all the subject matter he needs is staring at him right in the face.

Michaels could be writing songs about all of his experiences over the last few years. Here are some Glam Metal song titles better suited for his "Poison" persona...

"Headbanger" (The Tony's incident)
"I.C.U." (His near death experience)
"Rock Of Love" (Reality Shows)
"Kristi" (His on/off girlfriend of 18 years)

Okay, I shouldn't quit my day job but you get the idea. Just imagine what Michaels could come up with, if he'd just take the risk. It's a pretty calculated risk when you consider that, at this point, there's really nowhere to go but up for him now.

GlamMetalBoy! ,

I think you're on to something there. If Bret's creativity is as "run dry" as it appears, Maybe WE should write his new songs for him. I like the song titles you've submitted & I'll submit one for him also. I'll call my contribution:
"MY CAREER HAS RUN DRY,SO I'M SHILLING FOR FIDO" !

What'dya think?

Look, Frehley! I really would prefer you stop calling me Glam Metal Boy! How much is Christian paying you, anyway?! One thing you do have right -- Michaels has totally "lost it" by every definition of the phrase!

Okay, Kenny O, so "Saints of Los Angeles" is really only half an album -- Half killer, half filler (and maybe I'm even being a little overly generous with that assessment) but to call it "Garbage" is a little overkill, donchya think? Just the title track alone makes it worthy, IMHO, as it's one of the best songs Crüe's ever done.

If Michaels put out a Poison album half as good as "Saints of Los Angeles", that would be an achievement far, far better than anything he's done in the last 20 years (Let's face it, kids -- "Native Tongue" was sh*t!).

All he needs to do is put out a Poison album with the feel and genuine desire to ROCK they had in them when they did their first album, "Look What The Cat Dragged In".

I have a "Live Import" CD of Michaels' first band, Paris (Which is basically Poison but with Matt Smith, the original guitarist, before they got C.C.). At the end of the CD, with the band firing on all pistons and Brent singing at the top of his lungs and on key, Paris rolls out a killer cover of Priest's "You Got Another Thing Coming".

I wish.

So was it so bad that it got pulled? I haven't been able to find anything other than the pic you posted. From the general reaction, I'm thinking he pulled the track.

that comment was directed, to some of the fans that acually do want to hear the same stuff over and over again metalboy! yea its great stuff, i love talk dirty to me, i love every rose has its thorn, and i love unskinny bop, but like i said, i understand why he does this as an artist, and on the other note, i would LOVE to hear some more new Poison in the future

Cool, DJ. Point taken.

Poison is by far one of the greatest bands to ome out of the 80's and a personal favorite I have seen perform over 20 times.

Bret however has taken his personal career by the way of the Gene Simmons handbook and will absolutly whore himself in every way to keep his name in the news.

This song is horrible, and makes me sad to know he did it.
