Since We Can't Go Out For St. Patrick's Day...

We should all be practicing smart social distancing, meaning avoiding large crowds to fight the spread of Covid-19. In many states in America (and in Europe, too), large gatherings are banned right now... and that means no concerts.

St. Patrick's Day is a big day for parties and music. I hope people use some grace and common sense about avoiding gatherings. The Dropkick Murphys are not able to do their annual St. Patrick's Party show with a crowd, so they are going to livestream! If you'd like to beat cabin fever with some live music, just tune in. Info on the Tweet below.

Cool of them to do that. Hope people enjoy the show . . . from the comfort of their homes. Besides, the drinks might be stronger and they certainly will be cheaper.

In other Irish news, Flogging Molly singer Dave King was spotted out recently. Fan: "Love your music!" Dave: "Well, thanks, that is really nice of you." Fan: "Really loved _Waiting for the Roar_." Dave: "What?!?!" Fan: "You know, Fastway." Dave: "Never heard of 'em."

The party in Savanna, Georgia where I was planning to go has been canceled :( it attracts hundreds of thousands of people. usually around 800,000

800,000? Really? This must be the best kept secret that isn't a secret of all time, Crued!

Seeing DKM on St. Patrick's Day is a life long goal of mine. At least I'll get a little closer. Stay safe everyone, wash your hands!

Hmmm ... Sounds like The Truth is practicing social distancing, as well, as I don’t believe any of the above including some of the commenters names to be real, either.

Fact or fiction, regarding Dave King, it’s a crime he doesn’t have any self appreciation for Fastway and probably Kathmandu, the other band from his Hard Rock former life. His chops are just incredible, i.e. “Say What You Will”, et al.!!!

Agreed, Metalboy! I wish King would own his legacy, just as much as I wish Way had stuck around and recorded with the band. That man is a mess. But he is certainly rock n' roll!

You are also right on another point too: most of us prance around here with our nom de plumes showing (which is different from plumage). But, even with that form of social distancing, we tend to be a rather close bunch!

I was lucky enough to see DKM on St. Paddy's day in 2008. Easily one of my favorite concert memories. It's so cool that they are doing this tomorrow night.

Flogging Molly? What an extremely weak ass band. Lmao

BK ... That may be a little strong but it is a shame King won’t still perform the REAL Rock & Roll he used to ... I wonder if he even can ... If he could, he should ... Think of all the singers who play in more than one band ... Alas, it’s probably the money that keeps him locked into Flogging Molly ... Yet it is baffling how one could write off the music the rest of us love so dearly.

p.s. HIM! Is this a trap? I think you know what I mean regarding names being real around here!

I hear you, Metalboy! Some things never seem to change, or they do (if you know what I mean?). At the very least, I am fairly sure there are no bots sowing their oats on this site.
