M3 Rock Fest Single Day Tickets On Sale Friday

I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet - but M3 Rock Festival single day tickets will finally go on sale this Friday (via Ticketmaster). This is the 15th year of the festival (seems unreal) and it will take place May 4 and 5 at Merriweather Post Pavilion near Baltimore, Maryland. Bret Michaels and Queensryche will headline.

So I Didn't Know This Existed - Merch Edition

Apparently hidden Amazon stores are a thing... and thanks to Cosmopolitan magazine, I now know that there is a massive, "secret" band merch store. The stuff is cheaper than what you would pay at concerts too and the merch is licensed.

Visit the main page of the store and you can select a band from the massive list on the left. The Poison page even has city specific merch. Happy shopping!

Saxon, 'Madame Guillotine' - New Video

Specifically for our good friend London, a video for the Saxon song "Madame Guillotine" from the new album Hell, Fire and Damnation. There's a whole lot of European history here - but why expect anything less from the mighty Saxon?

'My Hair Looks Better Than Yours'

A big hat tip to our friend Metalboy! for sending me this one. UK singer and parody artist Sven Smith has a new track and video for "My Hair Looks Better Than Yours." Obviously it is all ridiculous and the video is pretty funny. Love the Slash-esque guitar solo and the commercial parody bits. It's a catchy little tune. Also, apparently Sven won the UK air guitar championship a few years back, so yeah. Enjoy!

Slash, 'Killing Floor' -- 'New' Song and Video

Slash will release a new album in May called Orgy of the Damned. The album is a new take on blues classics and the first single is "Killing Floor," originally recorded by "Howlin' Wolf" in the early 1960s. Slash's version features Brian Johnson (AC/DC!) and Steven Tyler on harmonica (Aerosmith!)

What do you think?

Slash, the iconic, Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter, has announced his highly anticipated sixth solo album titled "Orgy Of The Damned", will be released on May 17 via Gibson Records.

Two "Slips" - Who Did It Better?

"Slip of the Lip" (RATT) and "Slip of the Tongue" (Faster Pussycat) played back to back on Hair Nation last night. This got me to thinking: who did it better?

Faster Pussycat released the album Wake Me When It’s Over in 1989 and it features the song “Slip of the Tongue.” It wasn’t even a single but I think it is the strongest song on the album – and maybe of the entire Faster Pussycat canon.

RATT released the album Dancing Undercover in 1986. It contained the track “Slip of the Lip.” There is an official video for “Slip of the Lip” and it charted as an album single. I do think it is one of the stronger RATT songs, period.

Both songs talk about self-destruction, albeit in different ways. I tend to prefer the Faster Pussycat song but I have to wonder if the guys in the band were listening to RATT’s ideas on “Slip of the Lip” and decided to expound on the idea? Then there’s the Whitesnake album called Slip of the Tongue from 1989… but that’s a whole other conversation.

So who did it better in your opinion?
